The Kelowna Speed Skating Club was established in 1998 by a small group of dedicated volunteers. Originally based out of the Rutland Arena with ice only one day a week, the KSSC now calls the Capital News Centre home and supports skaters from the beginner levels through to national level competitors.
Under the direction of Head Coach Nancy Goplen, the KSSC has produced several provincial short and long track medalists, Canada West Short Track Champions, North American medalists and participants in international competition.
